More than 10,000 walkers will lace up their shoes and hit the pavement this weekend at several Walk MS events hosted by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
On Saturday walks will be held in East Hartford at Rentschler Field and in Stamford at Cove Island Park. Both events step off at 10 a.m.
Sunday walks will be held in Litchfield at the Litchfield Green and in West Haven at West Haven High School.
Multiple Sclerosis is a disease that impacts more than 6,500 Connecticut residents. Symptoms vary and can include numbness in extremities, vision loss, and in severe cases paralysis. However, advances in research and treatment have provided significant hope to those diagnosed.
The chapter hopes to raise $1.4 million through this year's Walk MS events.
