Pony rides offered to honor Sandy Hook victim

NEWTOWN, CT (WFSB) -

Newtown residents will be riding ponies Saturday to celebrate Jessica Rekos' life and love of animals. 

Rekos was killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook School shooting.

The Jessica Rekos Foundation will be hosting the event.

The foundation was created to continue Jessica's love of horses and whales through research.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Second Company Governor's House Guard.

There will also be activities such as horse shoe painting, face painting, a raffle and a silent auction.

The auction will include tickets to the MP Suite Box at Yankee Stadium, a bake sale, food, exotic visitors from the Beardsley Zoo.

Tickets are $10 per child and adults are free.
