Man rushed to hospital after being shot in Meriden

MERIDEN, CT (WFSB) -

Police are investigating a shooting in Meriden on Monday afternoon, police said. 

Officers were called to a report of shots fired on Willow Street around 12:45 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located an unidentified man with a gunshot wound. 

The seriousness of the injuries were not released by police. However, police said the man was rushed a local hospital where his condition was unknown.

The victim's name and age were not released by police on Monday afternoon. 

"This investigation is ongoing and police personnel are actively working the crime scene. At this time there is no suspect or suspects and it is not clear if the shooter was on foot or in a vehicle," Meriden police said in a statement on Monday.  

No arrests have been made in the shooting. Anyone with any information about the shooting is asked to call the Meriden Police Department at 203-630-6297.
