SHELTON, CT (WFSB) -

A moving company employee is facing charges after police said he was involved in a gun theft.

Shelton police arrested 22-year-old Anthony David Trotta, of Stratford, and charged him with theft of a firearm and criminal possession of a firearm.

Investigators were notified about the theft last month when a person, who was in the process of moving, noticed his gun to be missing.

He reported the theft to police, who located the gun hidden down the street in the woods.

Police interviewed employees of the moving company and determined Trotta was allegedly involved in the theft.

Police said more arrests are expected in this investigation.
