A home in Monroe erupted in flames early Tuesday morning, according to firefighters.
It happened at 39 Downs Rd. a little after midnight.
When firefighters arrived, they said they saw flames shooting through the roof.
The deputy fire chief on the scene told Eyewitness News that the home had been under construction so no one was home.
Mutual aid needed to be called from surrounding towns to fight the flames.
Firefighters said a lack of fire hydrants in the area also caused a problem.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
