HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Hartford said they arrested a man following complaints about illegal gun and drug sales.

Alonte Coleman, 18, was observed by officers to have engaged in drug-related activities. He said to have been in possession of at least two handguns and narcotics.

When they confronted him in the rear of a property on Edgewood Street, they said he fled.

After a short foot pursuit and a brief struggle, police said Coleman was detained.

He was found to have a Harrington Richardson Model 732 32mm revolver in a nearby vehicle, according to police.

A further search of the vehicle revealed the second gun, a 9mm Ruger semi-auto pistol model SR-9C. That gun, police said, was reported stolen from Hartford. Various loose rounds of ammunition were there as well.

They said 16 grams of crack cocaine were also discovered.

Coleman, who was arrested by Hartford police two times prior, was charged with a number of drug and gun charges.

His bond was set at $750,000.
