A vehicle crash in Hartford led to the arrest of a convicted felon on a slew of charges, including weapons and drugs.
Police said and officer saw Elias Guzman, 24, crash a Honda Accord near the intersection of Main and Park Streets just before 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Guzman and another person in the vehicle fled after they noticed the officer in the area, police said.
The officer was able to keep an eye on them and called for help during a foot pursuit.
After a brief struggle, Guzman was taken into custody near South Green Park.
Back at the crash scene, police said they found a firearm in the back seat. They also found an open backpack with several firearms inside. A total of eight guns were recovered.
They also said they found 61.8 grams of crack cocaine, 29 grams of marijuana, 100 bags of heroin that were stamped with the word "Fatboy" and $3,843.
The vehicle was also reported stolen.
Guzman, of East Hartford, was charged with a number of motor vehicle violations and drug and gun charges.
Police called him a convicted felon with 14 prior arrests.
His bond was set at $2.5 million.
