HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A school fight led to a teenager getting shot while in Hartford on Wednesday.

The shooting happened on Mather Street in the city’s North End neighborhood.

A 15-year-old was shot in the neck on Wednesday afternoon.

The area where it happened is close to a CREC school on Blue Hills Avenue.

Police said the school is not involved and the victim is not from Hartford.

“We believe the victim threw the brick at the suspects’ car and that's what lead to the shooting,” said Hartford Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley.

The teenager is recovering in the hospital.
