A teen reported to police that he had been shot at a liquor store in Wallingford Thursday night.
Police said they received the call just before 9 p.m.
The 19-year-old victim said he was in the parking lot of the Cook Hill Elementary School on Hall Road. He told them that he'd been shot at the CT Beverage Mart on North Colony Road.
He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim told police that he was with an 18-year-old friend from Bridgeport and the two were supposed to meet up with another person at the CT Beverage Mart.
During them meeting, the other person shot the victim in the stomach as they were speaking on the side store.
After Googling the nearest hospital, the victim's friend took him Gaylord Hospital for treatment. However, they were turned away.
Gaylord is listed a rehabilitation hospital for stroke, spinal cord, pulmonary and musculoskeletal injuries and diseases.
The victim then dialed 911. The dispatcher told them to pull over, which happened to be at the elementary school.
Police said they're still looking for a suspect.
