A man in Enfield is accused of sexually assaulting a minor, according to police.
Michael Metta, who trained for the volunteer Hazardville Fire Department, was picked up on a warrant Thursday night.
Metta was charged with first-degree sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, third-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault, illegal sexual contact with a minor and risk of injury to a minor.
Hazardville's fire chief told Eyewitness News that Metta joined the department in April 2014 and was there for less than a year.
The chief said he was a probationary member, which meant he was a firefighter in training. He was never certified.
Metta was due in Enfield Superior Court Friday morning.
