Amtrak service is restored between New York City and New Haven on Friday night after a power outage caused trains to be halted.
Officials with Amtrak tweeted that a "commercial power outage" was affecting Amtrak's Hell Gate line. This outage, Amtrak Media Relations said, is affecting power to Amtrak's catenary, which are the overhead power lines. Those lines are just north of New York City.
Amtrak officials said the trains were in holding until they resolve the outage.
Power was restored around 9 p.m.
