One injured after serious crash in West Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A section of South Main Street in West Hartford was closed following a serious motor scooter accident.

Around 12 p.m., a motor scooter and a Toyota Highlander collided at the intersection of South Main Street and Meadowbrook Road.

Police said the operator of the scooter lost control, crossed the yellow lines and crashed into the Toyota traveling southbound.

The driver of the scooter, 26-year-old Waterbury man, Kyle Barry was taken to St. Francis, and the scooter was totaled, according to police.

Police said the scooter was being driven north on South Main Street when the operator lost control and crossed the yellow line before it crashed into the car traveling Southbound.

The driver of the Toyota, 59-year-old, West Hartford resident Kevin Farmer was not injured and his vehicle suffered minimal damage.
