A childhood favorite is debuting in Hartford before heading to Broadway.
The stage adaptation of the 1997 animated musical Anastasia will arrive on Broadway for the 2016-17 season.
The show's creator's, who also helped create the classic Broadway show Ragtime, said this will be a new take on the movie.
Before it goes to Broadway, the show will have its world premiere at the Hartford Stage on May 12.
For the Hartford premiere, Christy Altomare will star in the title role and Derek Klena will play her love interest Dmitry.
The show will be directed by the Tony Award-winning director Darko Tresnjak.
Performances will continue through June 19.
