Recipe for New London Spring Food Stroll: Braised Beef Lo Mein
½ lb. Fresh Lo Mein Noodles (blanched)
6 cups Fresh Bean Sprouts
2 tbsp. canola oil
2 tbsp. minced garlic
2 tbsp. minced ginger
1 cup diced onions
1 cup diced carrots
½ cup chopped scallions
4 cups beef stock
1 cup teriyaki sauce (soy sauce and brown sugar reduced)
8 oz. Braised Beef or Sliced Sirloin
Sautee garlic, ginger, and onions in canola oil. Add carrots and cook until al dente. Add 4 cups of the bean sprouts and cook for 1 minute. Add blanched lo mein noodles, beef stock, and teriyaki. Cook until heated. Plate, and top with beef, bean sprouts, and chopped scallions.
