SOUTHBURY, CT (WFSB) -

Connecticut State Police are searching for a man accused in an attempted bank robbery that happened on Sunday afternoon.

The attempted bank robbery happened at the People’s Bank in Southbury, located inside a Stop & Shop on Main Street.

Police said the suspect entered the bank and demanded money and implied that he had a weapon, however none was shown.

The man was described as being between 5 feet and 5 inches and 5 feet 8 inches and was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with a grey/white checkered shirt, white baseball hat, and light-colored pants. The male suspect was unshaven, and had light brown hair.
