PD: Bicyclist in critical condition after crash in Stamford

STAMFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A bicyclist suffered “life-threatening injuries” after being hit by a motor vehicle in Stamford on Monday morning.

The serious crash occurred at the intersection of Tresser Boulevard and Edith Sherman Drive around 9:30 a.m.

Police said a 2004 Toyota Sienna hit 72-year-old Abdul Aziz while he was biking on Tresser Boulevard while approaching Edith Sherman Drive intersection.

Police said Aziz was hit when entering the crosswalk.  

Aziz, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Stamford Hospital where police said he is in critical condition.

Police said the driver of the Toyota Sienna stayed on scene and cooperating with the investigation.
