NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) -

On Monday, a Central Connecticut State University student reported that four men broke into her dorm room.

CCSU police said the student told them four men, all dressed in black and wearing identical bandanas, forced their way into her room at 1:30 a.m. at the Mid Campus Residence Hall.

The student said the men stole an item of her personal property.

The university said security patrols were increased following the break-in.

Students said the incident has them on edge, which comes during a stressful finals week.

"It's very stressful especially with more difficult classes," said student Emma Colucci.

She and her roommate Sarah Chapdeline said they love attending CCSU, but now they have to worry about the break-in that happened inside their dorm building.

"Just sad to hear that...You can't really feel secure even in your own dorm on campus," Colucci added.

"If four scary guys came into our room stole something while we were sleeping I really don't know what I would do," Chapdeline said.

This crime comes just three months after a "Peeping Tom" took photos of female students inside a CCSU bathroom.

"You don't know who it is, you don't know who you're dealing with, especially me living there I don't know anything," said student Alexander Bruzzi.

It is unclear if the suspects are students at this time.

The dorm building does have identification scanners but students say sometimes people let others in behind them.
