SIMSBURY, CT (WFSB) -

Crews rescued a 63-year-old hiker who fell at Talcott Mountain State Park in Simsbury on Tuesday afternoon. 

The incident was reported on Hartford Road around 5 p.m.  

Department of Energy and Environmental Protection officials said the man was on the yellow trail near the Heublein Tower when he fell about 25 feet.

Witnesses said he was knocked unconscious, and he suffered severe cuts and lacerations on his head.

EnCon Police said the man had regained consciousness.

The man had been hiking on the trail alone.

LIFE STAR was called to the scene as well.
