Police in Florida said they are trying to locate a missing 10-year-old girl and her mother, who are from Connecticut.
Bradenton Police said Suzanne Knight left abruptly on Tuesday night and took her young daughter Emma Mischaud with her.
Knight drove off in her maroon, 2016 Toyota RAV4...after arguing with her son and daughter-in-law.
"Mrs. Knight made some comments on the way down about hurting herself, hurting others. We want to make sure both are okay right now,” said Lt. James Racky, spokesperson for Bradenton Police.
The family drove down from Connecticut.
Police said the 46-year-old mom was helping her son and his wife move to the Palm Cove Apartments in Bradenton.
Police say there were family arguments during the trip to Florida and continued when they arrived in Bradenton.
“She said she was headed back to Connecticut but we haven't spoken to her yet,” Racky said.
Knight reportedly shut off her phone, so nobody has been able to get in touch with her.
Police said they hope the mother and child are fine, but are aware that a situation can turn volatile.
At stake is the safety of a 10-year-old, 4 foot 10 inch 60 pound young girl named Emma.
Police said Emma was last seen wearing a blue sundress and blue reading glasses. Suzanne Knight was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and gray sweat pants. They may be traveling in a 2016, Toyota RAV4, Connecticut tag number AD23238.
