State police said they arrested a woman for making a false claim that her ex-boyfriend and a trooper sexually assaulted her.
Detectives found that 30-year-old Alvina Molocko's claims were not valid.
In fact, they said the trooper actually arrested Molocko, of Taftville, before for a separate criminal matter in 2012.
Troopers said Molocko provided a sworn, written statement in Jan. 2016 that she was abused by the trooper on several occasions.
However, investigators were unable to find anything to back up those claims.
During a followup interview with Molocko, she admitted that the claims were not true and she made them up to gain leverage in a civil dispute against her ex-boyfriend.
On May 11, troopers obtained an arrest warrant from Norwich Superior Court.
Molocko then surrendered herself to state police in Montville.
She was charged with making a false statement and released on a $2,500 non-surety bond.
Molocko was scheduled to face a judge on May 25.
