A Torrington firefighter was placed on administrative leave after being arrested on Tuesday night.
Nicholas Votino is on leave pending an investigation into his arrest, Torrington fire Chief Gary Brunoli said.
Votino was charged with second-degree harassment, according to police. The Torrington Police Department public information officer said it's a family violence crime.
Police said Votino was released on $1,000 bond. However, due to the nature of the crime, Votino is expected to appear in Bantam Superior Court on Wednesday.
