A shelter in place order was issued for a middle school in Torrington on Wednesday morning after a threat.
Police are investigated a "suspicious circumstance involving possible threats." During the police investigation, the Torrington Middle School was placed in a lockdown as a precaution.
Police said the shelter in place order lasted a "short period of time." The order is lifted around noon.
"We want to emphasize that this was strictly precautionary, and in fact, at no time were students in danger and, in fact, students were able to follow their normal routines," school officials said in a statement.
School officials said it was in reference to something that happened earlier in the day.
Police said a juvenile male was charged with breach of peace.
