A Massachusetts woman is facing charges after police said she reportedly assaulted a 97-year-old woman in Vernon on Thursday.
Police said they arrested 42-year-old Kirsten Laundry, of East Boston, after she allegedly assaulted a woman in a wheelchair at the Aldi Supermarket on Talcottville Road.
The elderly woman is known to Laundry.
Police said Laundry reportedly shoved the victim's face in a violent manner while they were shopping in the store. Laundry also reportedly threatened to withhold food from the woman.
The victim was not injured.
Laundry was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was charged with cruelty to persons, second-degree breach of peace, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was held on a $10,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on Friday.
