Trinity College named their valedictorian and salutatorian for the commencement on Sunday and the students at the top of their class have a strong bond, they are twin sisters.
Valedictorian and Glastonbury native Jami Cogswell graduated summa cum laude on Sunday afternoon with a double major in mathematics and classical studies, with a minor in Latin.
Her sister, Salutatorian Darcy Cogswell majored in classical studies and minored in history.
The sisters attribute their interest in classical studies after building a foundation for classicism by taking Latin courses at East Catholic High School in Manchester.
The sister share a love of the outdoors. Valedictorian, Jami Cogswell is passionate about rock climbing and during her time at Trinity College, she was the president of the Rock Climbing Club.
For the summer, she plans to work as a climbing instructor at the Wilderness School, hosted by the Department of Children and Families.
Salutatorian, Darcy Cogswell finds her passion in sailing, and was one of 17 undergraduates who sailed a tall ship across the Atlantic Ocean in the summer of 2015.
For the summer, Darcy will climb abroad another tall ship, schooner SoundWaters out of Stamford in July.
