BRIDGEPORT, CT (WFSB) -

A Bridgeport police officer is recovering after being struck by a car while she was off duty.

Officers said they were called to Connecticut Avenue at Logan Street just before 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The 67-year-old officer was crossing the intersection when she was struck by a 1998 Buick Regal driven by 39-year-old Luzcelena Delheon of Bridgeport, according to police.

Delheon stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Police said the female officer was taken to Bridgeport Hospital where she was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have yet to identify the officer who was involved in this crash.

They are working to determine what caused it.
