Man accused of using dealership as front for heroin business set to face judge

NEW LONDON, CT (WFSB) -

A man accused of using an auto shop as a front for a heroin business is scheduled to face a judge.

Police said Jose Davila was arrested Monday morning after an investigation into US Wholesalers on South Road in Groton.

Investigators executed a search warrant at the business and seized 142 grams of heroin, cutting agents, packaging materials, scales and a .380 caliber handgun with an obliterated serial number.

Campers, cars, commercial vehicles, ATVs, motorcycles and motor scooters were also seized.

Davila was charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of heroin, criminal possession of a firearm and altering a firearm's serial number.

He is due in New London Superior Court around noon, according to court officials.
