A man has been arrested following the death of a 5-month-old child.
Manchester police responded to a home on Channing Drive, at the Squire Village Apartments, on Sunday night for the report of a 5-month-old choking.
The baby was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was performed, which ruled that the infant's death was caused by blunt head trauma and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
Police arrested 23-year-old Joshua Maldonado, of Hartford, on Wednesday.
Maldonado was not related to the child but was babysitting when the child died.
Maldonado was charged with first-degree manslaughter, first-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor.
He was held on a $350,000 bond and is expected to appear in court on Thursday.
