NORWICH, CT (WFSB) -

A man from Norwich whom police said turned himself in following the death of his pregnant wife is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

Police said 39-year-old Patrick Antoine killed Margaret Mardi and set their apartment on fire Thursday.

Antoine was charged with murder and arson, though police said the investigation isn't finished.

Family members told Eyewitness News that Antoine's wife was 9 months pregnant.

They said Mardi was already a mother of two.

Police said she was stabbed multiple times in the upper level apartment she shared with Antoine on Franklin Street.

Firefighters said they responded to the scene around 11 a.m. after fielding a number of 911 calls.

Mardi was found wounded and unresponsive in a room filled with flames, according to officials.

Friends, family and coworkers said they were devastated.

They said Mardi worked as a housekeeper at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Antoine also works there.

Police said they are still looking for answers about what led to the crimes.

Antoine's arraignment is set to take place in Norwich Superior Court Friday.
