Hartford Police said two men have been arrested in a car chase that injured two officers Saturday night.
Police said an officer followed a stolen vehicle on Brookfield Street before he lost sight of the car.
A Hartford police detective witnessed the car driving erratically in the area of Park Street and followed the car while communicating with patrol officers.
Hartford officers then pulled over the driver on Affleck Street.
According to officials, when police approached the car, the driver took off again and hit the police detective.
He was not seriously injured.
Police then began to chase the car after the driver took off.
Hartford police said four police vehicles were damaged during the pursuit.
Two officers and one of the suspects also suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Ricardo Perez faces numerous charges which include reckless driving, larceny in the 1st degree, engaging police in pursuit, 3 counts of assault on police and two drug charges.
Emilo Diaz was also charged in the incident. He will face charges of interference, possession of a hallucinagenic and possession of marijuana.
Two Hartford police officers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a disturbance on Park St. in which several cruisers were damaged.
