EAST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Police in East Hartford said they're investigating reports of shots fired into a home overnight.

They said it happened near 98 Higbie St. around 4 a.m.

Police said no one was hurt and they had no information about potential suspects.

They described the home as a duplex and said multiple rounds were fired into the building.

Neighbors said they were shaken up by the event.

Channel 3's Matthew Campbell spoke with neighbors who said they were shaken up by the incident.

"I realized they weren't firecrackers, then I ran in my son's room to make sure he was home," said neighbor Tammy Macintosh.

Macintosh said she heard five or six rounds and was shocked the shooting happened right next to her home.

"This is getting out of hand, it's crazy. I grew up right up the street here. I've never seen anything like this, it's horrible," said Macintosh.

She has been living in the home since her father-in-law bought it after World War II. She said now she is considering moving.

Police said it appeared the house that was shot was not targeted.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
