A teen from Southington, whom police believed to be drunk, threatened people with an airsoft gun inside his home on Monday night.
Police said Tyler Smith, 19, was arrested on a number of charges and faced a judge on Tuesday morning in Bristol.
They said they were called to the area of Pinecrest Drive on a report of a disturbance involving a gun.
Their investigation showed that Smith was at his home with some friends when the homeowner asked the friends to leave.
Smith, however, became angry. Police said that's when he retrieved what looked like a handgun and began to threaten people inside the home.
When officers arrived, they said Smith appeared intoxicated and uncooperative. They said he physically resisted while being taken into custody.
The gun was found to be an airsoft type weapon make to look like a Colt model 1911 handgun. It operates with compressed air and fires bb-type projectiles.
Smith was charged with second-degree breach of peace, interfering with police and brandishing a facsimile firearm.
He was held on a $50,000 cash or surety bond.
