A volunteer firefighter was killed in a crash in Monroe on Monday night.
Police said 24-year-old Forrest Ryan died when his motorcycle collided with a Land Rover at about 7 p.m.
Ryan's motorcycle was headed north on Route 25 when it crossed into the southbound lanes and was struck by the oncoming Land Rover.
Two of three occupants in the Land Rover were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
"It was a sudden and tragic loss for his family, friends, and fellow members of the fire department," Monroe Volunteer Fire Department spokesman Kevin Catalano told Eyewitness News.
Forrest joined the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department in 2009. The department posted on its Facebook page that he "was an active firefighter serving our community for several years."
