MILFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Milford are investigating a robbery at a retail store in Milford.

They said they responded to Walmart on the Boston Post Road on Thursday just after 7:30 a.m.

The store was open at the time.

"There were about three or four police officers in there walking around the door they had the caution tape and everything," said Emily Ingram of Orange. "There were a couple of people at the customer service desk talking to people."

Police said a man entered, went to the service desk, implied he had a firearm and took an undetermined amount of money from a clerk.

The store was taped off to the public so police could make sure the suspect wasn't still there when officers arrived.

However, police said the suspect fled out of the front door before they got there.

He was described as wearing all black, a baseball hat and headphones. He entered a light-colored 4-door vehicle that was waiting in the area.

No one was hurt.

Police said the store is back open.
