A woman was struck by a vehicle in Vernon Friday morning.
Police said it happened on Skinner Road at Brimwood Drive.
Skinner Road was closed, but it has since reopened. Police estimated that the road would be closed until about 10:20 a.m.
They said the victim, a woman in her 20s, suffered serious head and chest injuries. She was taken to Hartford Hospital.
The cause remains under investigation.

Police said the woman who hit the pedestrian is in her 40's and is cooperating with police.
The driver and pedestrian's identities have not been released. Police said the driver did not suffer any injuries.
