EAST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Police in East Hartford said a pregnant mother and her unborn child survived a late night attack that left a man dead.

They identified the woman as 22-year-old Deyanna Bowers.

Police said they responded to a shooting at a home on Plain Drive back on June 17.

They found Bowers and Trevino Archer, 21, shot multiple times.

Archer, who was identified on Monday as the second victim, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bowers was taken to Hartford Hospital and has since been released.

Police said both she and her child survived the attack.

Two other people, including a 4-year-old child and an unidentified adult woman, were in the home at the time of the shooting. Both were unharmed.

Police said the case was not one of domestic violence. They emphasized that the victims were attacked.

Investigators are still looking into the circumstances.
