A Bethel woman is facing charges after police said she was swinging a machete around and threatened to kill a person.
Police were called to Greenwood Avenue early Sunday morning for the report of a disturbance.
When police arrived, they found 47-year-old Maria Medina who had been involved in an argument with another person.
During the argument, Medina reportedly began hitting the other person and threatened to kill them.
She then got a machete from the back of a vehicle and "began swinging it wildly," police said.
She was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal mischief, breach of peace, third-degree assault, and threatening.
