A West Haven police officers was seriously injured in a crash while participating in a motorcycle training class.
Officer Michael Doyle was riding with 25 other police motorcycles on the Taconic State Parkway in Putnam Valley when police said he was stuck by a vehicle merging onto the road.
Police said 34-year-old Doyle “was launched from his motorcycle onto the pavement.” He was taken by Life Star medical helicopter to Westchester Medical Center
Doyle, who is an experienced motorcycle rider and eight-year veteran of the West Haven Police Department, suffered “severe injuries,” but police did not release his condition on Thursday.
Doyle was participating in a police motorcycle training class with the Yonkers, New York Police Department at the time of crash.
