A new report ranked Connecticut as one of the best states to raise a child.
The Annie E. Casey Foundation ranked the state as the fifth best state for child well-being.
The state also ranked number two in child health and three in youth education.
The ranking has improved from last year, which ranked Connecticut as number four in child health and number five in youth education.
Senator Bob Duff, of Norwalk, said although he is proud of the improvement, there is more to be done.
"In order for Connecticut's economy to remain competitive and attract new business, it is critical that we continue our commitment to policies that make Connecticut one of the best places in the country to raise a family," said Duff.
The report also said 87% of state high school students graduate on time.
