ELLINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

A suspicious home invasion that left a woman dead remains "under investigation" with no updates, according to state police.

Connie Dabate, 39, was found with gunshot wounds to the head and abdomen in her home on Birch View Drive.

The crime happened on Dec. 23.

Connie Dabate's death was classified as a homicide; however, state police would not say if there have been any new developments in the six months since she died.

No suspect was named.

Connie Dabate's husband, 39-year-old Richard Dabate, was also hurt in the home invasion. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening. Police would not say how he was hurt.

Troopers found them after a burglar alarm was tripped.

Investigators determined that there was no threat to the public.

Community members described Connie Dabate as a caring mother of two children.
