Fire displaces 26 people from New Haven home

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

Officials said 26 people were displaced from a New Haven home on Thursday after a fire broke out.

The fire was reported at a little before 2 p.m. at a home in the area of Anita Street and Ella Grasso Boulevard. Officials said the fire was knocked down by 3:30 p.m.

Three buildings were impacted by the fire, including the front of a 2-and-a-half story building and another building, which were heavily damaged.

Forty firefighters responded to fight the fire, and one suffered a broken finger.

Red cross said they are assisting the 6 families.

It is unclear what sparked the fire at this time.
