Willimantic man arrested for growing nearly 50 marijuana plants

WILLIMANTIC, CT (WFSB) -

A Willimantic man was arrested for growing nearly 50 marijuana plants in his home.

Police said Mark O'Donnell, 43, was taken into custody on Sunday at his home on School House Lane.

They said they seized 48 individual plants, lighting and other cultivation materials from his home.

O'Donnell was charged with illegal cultivation of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a school.

He was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

O'Donnell was given a court date of July 6 in Danielson.
