An online video of a woman apparently preventing a motorcyclist from merging on a South Windsor road has gone viral.
Police said the rider was traveling on Sullivan Avenue, also known as Route 194, on Tuesday when the woman, identified as Michelle Lynch, appeared to cut into the rider's lane without yielding.
The biker, identified as David Bafumo of East Granby, recorded the incident on his phone and posted it to YouTube. The video contains some graphic language.
In the video, Bafumo can be seen flagging down Sgt. Mike Prescher of the South Windsor Police Department, who happened to be sitting in a marked SUV a short distance down the road.
"She tried to run me out of my lane at the merge," the rider said. "I have it on video."
"Ok," Prescher said. "Behind me."
Prescher sped off with Bafumo behind him.
They caught up to Lynch, of Massachusetts, around 473 Sullivan Ave. just after 5 p.m.
Prescher issued her two infractions totaling $264.
The infractions included passing on the right and failure to drive right.
"Cop was a cool guy and after he was done with what he needed to do we all went on our way," the rider posted under the video.
Since the video was posted on Tuesday, it garnered more than 1 million views.
Eyewitness News will have more on this story starting at 5 p.m.
