WINDSOR LOCKS, CT (WFSB) -

Police are searching for three men involved in a “serious assault” in Windsor Locks early Thursday morning.

Investigators said the assault occurred on Dexter Road around 1 a.m. Police said three masked men broke into a car on property.

Police said a fight ensued between the two people at the home and three suspects. One of the victims suffered “serious injury to his face, mouth, and teeth,” police said.

The suspects fled, but left behind a Subaru with the Connecticut license plate 418ZOP. Police said they believe the vehicle was stolen from Suffield.

The investigation into the assault is “active,” according to police.

"We do not know of this was random as there were inconsistencies in the victims statement," police told Eyewitness News.

Investigators have no descriptions of the suspects since they were masked at the time of the assault.

Police said there were no related incidents in that area.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Windsor Locks Police Department at 860-627-1461.
