Crews responded to a scene at Burr Pond State Park in Torrington in which a 6-year-old girl nearly drowned in the waters, an official for DEEP said.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection police, Torrington Police and EMS responded to the park at approximately 6:30 p.m.
The girl was transported by ambulance from the park to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. Emergency medical services personnel said the girl regained consciousness while on route the hospital.
She has since been treated and released from the hospital, according to a DEEP official.
The park was at full capacity today.
Only one week ago, a 4-year-old boy from Bronx, New York was pulled from the water and later died at the hospital.
Recently, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection imposed a 90-day alcohol ban at Burr Pond State park following the death of the child.
