Officials in Groton said the town's annual Fourth of July parade is expected to draw big crowds on Monday.
The festivities take place along Route 1.
Organizers said the theme of this year's parade is "American Heroes."
It will feature a grand marshal who is a submarine veteran from World War II and 20 replica subs that have been decorated for the Connecticut Sub Trail.
Participating floats and vehicles will stage on Depot Road. Residents were warned by police to expected traffic congestion on and around that location.
The parade steps off at 10 a.m.
