SOUTHINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

A 20-year-old man was arrested after police said he sent threatening texts to a woman and tried to get into house with a gun.

Police said Southington resident Daniel Brown tried to get into a home in the 200 block of Andrews Street around 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police said Brown sent messages to a woman threatening to kill her.

Police said they received information that Brown was going to purchase gasoline to burn down the house.

Officers located Brown in his vehicle a short distance from his home. Brown was charged with second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace.

Officers found no gun and no gasoline containers in the vehicle.

Brown is being held on $10,000 bond. He will be arraigned on Tuesday.
