MILFORD, CT (WFSB) -

A man who stole and tried to sell a state trooper's assault-style rifle is scheduled to make his second court appearance in two days.

Travis Ingram, 20, of New Haven, was one of four people connected to the crime, which happened in Milford back in March.

State police said he was arrested on Tuesday, along with 18-year-old Leandre Crockett.

Troopers said Ingram and Crockett broke into the trooper's cruiser, took the AR-15 rifle, two fully-loaded 30 round magazines and a bullet-proof vest.

State police said Ingram broke into a number of other vehicles as well.

The stolen state police items were eventually recovered.

Ingram was arrested based on two warrants.

The first charged him with stealing a firearm, possession of an assault weapon and other related charges.

The second involved firearms trafficking.

Ingram is due in Milford Superior Court Thursday.
