An 80-year-old man was hit by a motor vehicle when police said he was trying to cross the street in Bristol on Thursday afternoon.
The crash happened near 111 North Main St., which is close to the Bristol City Hall, around 1:45 p.m.
During their investigation, police determined that the unidentified 80-year-old man was hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross North Main Street.
Police said the 80-year-old man suffered a "serious head injury" and was rushed to a hospital in the Hartford area.
Police are not releasing the names of the 80-year-old man or the driver.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Anyone with any information about the crash is asked to call the Bristol Police Department Traffic Division at 860-584-3033.
