A Norwich teenager was killed in a crash in Rhode Island Thursday.
The accident occurred around 12 p.m. in Richmond, R.I.
Richmond police said Grace Hanlon, 16, of Norwich, was killed in the crash on Route 138.
They said the girl's father, Paul Hanlon, 50, was transported by Life Star is currently being treated at Rhode Island Hospital.
Officials said Hanlon's Jeep was struck by a Chevrolet Impala after it collided with a Lexus SUV that was ahead of the car.
Hanlon was pronounced dead at South County Hospital.
Geoffrey Serra, a spokesman for Norwich Free Academy, said Hanlon was a rising senior at the school.
"A dependable, reliable, hardworking leader, Grace was a mature and respectful NFA fan. All who knew her were better as a result. Her loss affects every member of our community, and she will be greatly missed," said Serra.
He said Hanlon was also a member of the soccer team and Student Advisory Board.
Counselors were made available yesterday in the Ensemble Room of the Frank Center at the academy.
