WILLIMANTIC, CT (WFSB) -

A man from Willimantic is accused of choking and sexually assaulting a woman.

Police said Nelson Sanchez, 27, was arrested in Providence, RI where he waived extradition back to Connecticut. He was turned over to Willimantic police on Friday.

The incident started as a domestic dispute, according to police.

Investigators said Sanchez choked the victim to the point of where she passed out.

When the victim woke up, she said she was naked.

Sanchez reportedly admitted to choking her and touching her chest.

Police said they charged him with first-degree assault, first-degree strangulation, third-degree sexual assault, reckless endangerment, third-degree assault and criminal attempt.

He was held on a $100,000 bond.

Sanchez was scheduled to face a judge on Monday.
